Senior ABA Supervisor
Prior to working in ABA I worked with adults with learning difficulties in a residential care setting, and I was a manager of a childcare nursery for 9 years. In 2005 I was approached by a parent to work as an ABA tutor for their child with Autism. I attended the initial two day ABA workshop, began working as an ABA tutor, and once I saw the incredible progress and potential for children and young adults through ABA teaching methods I never looked back.
Since then I have worked with a number of case managers; I’ve also worked alongside a number of experienced tutors and have trained many more. My hands-on approach has been appreciated by the families I work with. I have been an ABA supervisor for over 10 years.
I feel passionate about being heavily involved in the programmes that I oversee, and about including parents, siblings, and other family members as much as possible in the teaching process.
As well as my years of experience, I’ve attended a number of teaching courses including: Child Autism UK – School Shadowing; Terry Gilligan (Independent SLT) – Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, and Semantic Pragmatic Disorder; Child Autism UK – Theory of Mind.
