Emily Goyen

Consultant Behaviour Analyst and Clinical Lead. MSc, BCBA, UKBA(cert).

I have over 15 years' experience working with young people with learning difficulties, and began tutoring on home-based ABA programmes after graduating from my undergraduate degree in Psychology in 2009. Two years later I became a lead tutor, and I began supervising therapy programmes two years after that.

I have experience supporting learners of a wide range of abilities between 15 months and 25 years of age, and in a variety of settings including home based programmes, an ABA Saturday school, mainstream schools, and special needs schools.

I completed my Masters degree in ABA at Bangor University in 2017, and qualified as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst in February 2020, marking the completion of over 1,500 hours of supervised clinical practice.

I feel passionate about making effective teaching and behaviour support manageable for families who struggle to access appropriate and effective therapies or support services for their child.

"Emily has been fantastic with our son. He's made excellent development progress since starting, and it's all down to the tailored programme Emily created for us. Our only regret is not getting started sooner."

Research

For my dissertation I received a Masters Studentship Award from the Sharland Foundation Developmental Disabilities ABA Research and Impact Network at the University of Warwick, to support practice-based research. I have since published two peer-reviewed papers on handwriting instruction for children with developmental disabilities.
