Support for your child at home

What does ABA support at home involve?
We work with children and young people of all ages. For younger children, this is often called early behavioural intervention, which means structured teaching based on ABA, started as early as possible. You may have heard of the intensive version, EIBI, which runs for many hours a week. We tailor the hours to your child and your family.
Your child works on a small set of individual targets during short, regular sessions at home. A behaviour analyst sets those targets with you, trains whoever is delivering the sessions, and reviews progress. Targets change as your child moves on. There is no fixed end date, and most families review progress every month or so.
We work on the things that will make your child's daily life easier. For a younger child, that might be asking for what they want instead of leading you by the hand, responding to their name, or using the toilet. For an older child or teenager, it might be getting ready for school without reminders, paying for something in a shop, or coping when plans change.
Who runs the sessions?
This decision shapes everything else, including cost.
Run them yourself. There are no session fees, but it takes your time, and you will need training and supervision from us.
Book our practitioners. One-to-one teaching sessions with one of our team. This costs the most per hour.
Ask someone who already knows your child. A key worker, teaching assistant or family member can be trained to run sessions under our supervision. They know your child, which usually means a faster start.
Recruit an ABA tutor. Independent tutors work under our supervision, and we can help you find and recruit one. Most tutors are not insured childcare providers, so you will usually need to be in the house while they work.
If you are not near us, or would rather work by video call, remote support works the same way with the visits replaced by calls.
Whichever option you choose, we recommend a high level of parental involvement.
Where, and how long?
A quiet space your child is not already using for something else works best, with room for light physical play and storage out of reach. A spare room is ideal, but plenty of families use a corner of a living room. Siblings usually need to be occupied elsewhere at first.
We recommend starting at five or more hours per week, usually spread across one to two hours a day, though some families prefer fewer, longer sessions. Fewer hours done consistently work better than a plan that collapses after a month, so be realistic about what your family can keep up.
Our role
Our consultant behaviour analysts hold masters degrees in behaviour analysis and have completed supervised clinical practice. We design the targets, train whoever runs the sessions, and review progress during regular visits, with contact in between when you need it.
Most of the time we consult rather than deliver sessions day to day, and sometimes we deliver sessions directly. Either way, we stay involved and the clinical oversight is always ours.

We don't offer fixed packages of ongoing support, such as a set number of visits or hours. A programme should fit your child, not the other way round.
We check that each target is meaningful for your child and that they are happy in sessions, and we want to hear from you if anything does not sit right.
What it costs
Every programme starts with an intake package covering the initial assessments, your training and a written plan. These run from £450 for a fully remote package to £750 for the full intervention package. Which one suits depends on how much assessment your child needs and whether we are working in person or remotely.
After that, ongoing support is charged by the hour, from £40 to £65 depending on who is delivering it. Admin tasks are charged separately, and there may be a travel charge depending on how far your practitioner travels.
A 50% deposit is needed to secure your intake package booking. We will give you exact figures, including travel, on your first call.
